On February 7, the reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences that 12 specifications of tyres, including ARJ21 aircraft main tyre, were trial-produced using the natural rubber for aircraft tyres independently developed by the Academy, and successfully passed the dynamic simulation test. This shows that the Institute has made important progress in the production and processing technology research and development of natural rubber for aviation tires, which is of great significance to realize the localization of China's aviation tires and improve the international competitiveness.
The dynamic simulation test was carried out in the aircraft tire brake test center to verify the applicability of tire body structure and materials under the conditions of maximum load and maximum speed. After the test, there was no slippage between the tire and the rim, and the tire was intact. All 12 specifications of tires passed the dynamic test verification, laying a foundation for the next test and evidence collection.
It is understood that the special natural rubber for aviation tires used this time is developed with the rubber tree varieties with independent intellectual property rights of the Chinese Academy of Thermal Sciences as planting materials, supporting scientific cultivation and management measures, and innovative processing technology. Compared with imported tobacco films, the tear strength is better, the resilience is improved by 8% - 10%, and the abrasion is reduced by 12% - 24%, which can better meet the needs of aviation tire performance.
