Usually, the polymer material whose Tg is lower than normal temperature is called plastic (such as polyethylene Tg is -78 degrees), and the polymer material whose Tg temperature is higher than normal temperature is called rubber.
Polyurethane is a very special polymer. It consists of hard segment and soft segment. The hard segment has a very low Tg and has the characteristics of plastic. The soft segment has a Tg much higher than room temperature and has the characteristics of rubber. During the synthesis of polyurethane, by controlling the polymerization reaction, the ratio of the hard segment and the soft segment of the polymer can be adjusted, so that the polyurethane behaves as a plastic or rubber.
Plastic shoes do not include plastic shoes, and common sense should not include them. In common sense, rubber shoes are generally waterproof shoes, military shoes, etc. that are worn in the rain. Plastic shoes generally include slippers.
