Silicone rubber (MVQ) and fluorosilicone rubber
Mainly used in the manufacture of various heat-resistant sealing rings, gaskets, pipe fittings, etc., such as radiator, heat exchanger and water pump seals, cylinder head gaskets, engine cover seals, headlights, oil filter seals, connector protective sleeves, spark plugs protective cover, etc.
Room temperature vulcanized silicone sealant is used for the sealing of automobile doors, windows and various connecting parts, and also used for on-site molding of silicone rubber gaskets. Because of its reliable performance, durability, field molding, and easy use, it has been used in many automotive components, such as Protective sleeves for hinge connections and crankshafts, seals in engine cooling systems, seals in thermostat housings, water and oil pumps, oil filters, bearing seals, transmission case seals, drive axle hoods, body seals, etc. The total amount can be tens of thousands of tons.
Fluorosilicone rubber has the characteristics of high and low temperature resistance of silicone rubber and oil resistance of fluorine rubber. The price of fluorosilicone rubber is relatively high, and it is mainly used to manufacture high-precision components such as engine crankshaft oil seals.
Major foreign manufacturers of silicone rubber include Dow Corning Corporation, General Electric Corporation, and Shin-Etsu Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. of Japan.
