A release agent is a functional substance between the mold and the finished product. The release agent adheres to the mold and is not easily transferred to the processed product, and does not interfere with other secondary processing operations such as painting and printing. Widely used in a variety of molding operations such as metal casting, polyurethane and elastomers, fiberglass-reinforced plastics, injection-molded thermoplastics, vacuum foamed sheets, and extruded profiles.
Rubber release agent is used in the vulcanization process of rubber products to prevent the rubber products from adhering to the surface of the mold, and to make it out of the mold smoothly. When using it, spray or apply it on the surface of the mold cavity to form an effective isolation layer. membrane. The main requirements for the rubber release agent are: certain thermal stability and chemical inertness, no corrosion of the cavity surface; strong adhesion to the surface of the mold cavity; no residual decomposition products on the surface of the cavity; no influence on the color of the product, It does not affect the product quality or the subsequent processing of the product, but it can give the product a good appearance, reduce the frequency of mold cleaning, improve production efficiency, reduce the defective rate of rubber products, and improve the service life of the mold.
The working principle of the release agent:
The polar chemical bond interacts with the mold surface to form an adsorption-type film with regenerative power;
The silicon-oxygen bond in polysiloxane can be regarded as a weak dipole (Si+-O-). When the release agent spreads into a single orientation arrangement on the surface of the mold, the molecule adopts a unique extended chain configuration;
The free surface is covered by the alkyl group in a densely packed manner, and the release ability increases with the density of the alkyl group; but when the alkyl group occupies a large steric hindrance, the stretching configuration is limited, and the release ability will decrease;
The molecular weight and viscosity of the release agent are also related to the release ability. When the molecular weight is small, the spreadability is good, but the heat resistance is poor.
