New regulations for annual inspection
1. The tread depth of the tire shall not be less than 1.6 mm
In the newly implemented "Technical Inspection Items and Methods for Motor Vehicle Safety", it is the first time that regulations are made for automobile tires, and the depth of tire treads shall not be less than 1.6 mm.
2. The new annual inspection regulations have made mandatory requirements for tire tread depth
In the process of annual vehicle inspection, it is necessary to measure with a tire tread depth meter. Passenger cars whose tire tread depth does not meet the above requirements will not pass the annual inspection.
How to judge tire tread depth
Then there is no measuring tool around, how do you judge whether the depth of the pattern is less than 1.6 mm?
In fact, before each tire leaves the factory, the factory will print "△" on the shoulders on both sides of the tire, which is used to guide the position of the tire tread wear indicator.
If you find that the tread rubber blocks are worn to the same height as the protruding wear mark, remember to change the tire in time.
In addition, you can also use the "coin test method": insert it into the tread groove along the top of the coin, and if you can still see the mark on the back of the entire coin, it means that the thickness is insufficient.

The tread depth is too low, and the drainage performance of the tire is greatly reduced. If the water cannot be drained in time, a water film will form between the tires and the road surface, and the vehicle will easily slip or drift, which is very dangerous.
Aging tires increase safety hazards
After the tread depth of the tire is less than 1.6mm, it means that the rubber and steel wire have been seriously aged, and the strength will be greatly reduced. Using such a tire, it is very easy to have a tire blowout.
During the annual inspection of the car, the following two requirements are also made for the tires
The tires of the same type, specification and pattern should be installed on both sides of the coaxial, and the tire bolts and half-shaft bolts should be complete and fastened;
The tread and sidewall of the tire should not have a length exceeding 25mm or a depth sufficient to expose the rupture and cut of the tire ply, as well as other defects, abnormal wear and deformation affecting the use.
