magnesium hydroxide
Magnesium hydroxide is an inorganic weak base product. Because of its strong buffering performance, high activity and adsorption capacity, as well as many unique properties such as non-corrosive, non-toxic and harmless, it is called "green neutralizer", "environment-friendly flame retardant" and "the third alkali". It is one of the products favored and respected in the process of implementing sustainable development strategy, protecting the environment and beneficial ecological development.
Magnesium hydroxide can also be used as intermediate material to produce magnesium oxide. Ultrafine magnesium hydroxide is also one of the important raw materials for the production of nanometer magnesium oxide; As a product, it has many uses, of which the consumption is large and the use effect is significant mainly in two areas. First, as an inorganic additive non-toxic flame retardant, it has many properties such as flame retardancy, smoke suppression, drip resistance and filling; The second is the application in the field of environmental protection. As an environmental protection product, because of its excellent performance, it has occupied the top several of the consumption of magnesium hydroxide.
The preparation methods of magnesium hydroxide include:
1. Physical crushing method The physical crushing method refers to the direct crushing of the ore, through dry rough grinding and wet ultrafine grinding, to produce the required particle size grade of magnesium hydroxide products. The ore commonly used is brucite.
2. Ore calcination hydration method This method calcines the ore and hydrates the prepared magnesium oxide to prepare magnesium hydroxide, which is a process of magnesium oxide dissolution and magnesium hydroxide precipitation, in which the dissolution of magnesium oxide is the control step. Because of the different composition of the ore, magnesite is mostly used.
3. Liquid phase precipitation method There are two sources of raw materials for this method. One is magnesite, dolomite, serpentine, etc., which are processed by acid hydrolysis or other methods to obtain magnesium salt, and then precipitate with alkali to prepare magnesium hydroxide. One is the precipitation reaction of magnesium salt obtained from seawater, salt lake water and well brine with alkali to prepare magnesium hydroxide.
