Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Qingdao Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Sinopec Baling Petrochemical's 30000t/a solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber plant production line successfully started at one time, and successfully produced new iron-based comb-branched styrene-butadiene rubber materials. This is the first time that the product has been industrialized in China.
In view of the problem that China's synthetic rubber is heavily dependent on imports and the urgent need for the high-value conversion and utilization of C4-C5 olefins in the downstream of petrochemical industry, the Qingdao Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shandong Institute of Energy) has designed and synthesized a new type of iron-based catalyst, created a new material of iron-based comb-branched neoprene, and developed catalyst technology and catalytic polymerization technology with independent intellectual property rights; Cooperate with Baling Petrochemical to realize the industrial production demonstration of 10000 tons of iron-based comb-branched neoprene rubber for the first time; Cooperate with Linglong tire, Senkylin tire, Haohua tire and other enterprises in research and development, and achieve breakthroughs in the key technology of the application of high-performance tire tread compound.
The project passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in July 2022, and the appraisal opinion believed that the overall technology of the project reached the international advanced level.
The iron-based combed styrene-butadiene rubber can replace the imported solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber. The wet skid resistance of the iron-based combed styrene-butadiene rubber tire manufactured with this new material can reach Class A (Class B for the standard tire) of the European Union's new labeling method, with strong applicability and ranking at the international advanced level. Iron series comb-branched neoprene rubber is expected to form revolutionary technical products.
