Bridgestone, Yokohama Rubber, Michelin Tire and other tire manufacturers have recently announced that they will once again increase the ex-factory prices of commercial tires and related products in the Japanese market.
Bridgestone's price increase will be implemented from September 1, and the price increase products include commercial tires (summer/winter). Depending on the product, price increases range from 3% to 8%.
The company said that while it raised the price of commercial tires on April 1, the surge in crude oil prices against the backdrop of increasingly tense geographic conflicts had a significant impact on tire raw material prices and energy costs related to production and supply. Therefore, the company decided to adjust the price again.
Yokohama Rubber's price increase will be implemented from October 1. Product price increases include commercial tires (summer, winter and all-season), with increases of up to 8%.
As the prices of petrochemical raw materials and other raw materials continue to remain high, the company has successively raised product prices since April 1. However, there has been little success in digesting the rise in raw material costs and production-related energy costs due to rising crude oil prices. So decided to raise the price again.
The price increase of Michelin tires in Japan will be implemented from October 1, involving commercial tires of the Michelin, BF Goodrich and CAMSO brands, with a price increase of 3% to 8%.
